Osman Mamun, Ph.D.

Osman Mamun joined New Equilibrium Biosciences as a machine learning scientist in November 2021. Here, he is developing an AI force field for intrinsically disordered proteins (IDP). He completed his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina on the theoretical elucidation of reaction kinetics of biomass conversion processes. Before joining New Equilibrium, he was a postdoctoral research associate in Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, working on machine learning for extreme temperature materials. Prior to PNNL, he also worked in Stanford University’s SUNCAT center for interface science and catalysis as a postdoctoral scholar where he developed a high-throughput workflow combining theoretical and machine learning algorithms to discover novel heterogeneous catalytic materials for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
