Software Engineer

New Equilibrium Biosciences discovers drugs that target intrinsically disordered proteins through its computational-experimental IDP-Shift platform, with the mission of creating transformative medicines for patients with life-threatening diseases. We are leveraging IDP- Shift to rationally design drug molecules for regulating multiple IDPs in a wide range of diseases including Oncology and Neurodegenerative disorders.

New Equilibrium is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team of highly motivated scientists dedicated to the delivery of life-extending therapeutics for patients. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the progression of our multi-disciplinary drug discovery programs

Your Responsibilities

  • Write and develop software for the IDP-Shift platform, with a focus on molecular dynamics simulation architecture and machine-learned force field development
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software systems
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and tooling
  • Follow software development and documentation best practices and contribute towards improving our internal practices
  • Work and communicate timelines with an interdisciplinary team
  • Provide guidance to developers on architectural best practices, guidelines, and standards 
  • Work with development teams to resolve development and implementation issues
  • Help shape the culture of New Equilibrium Biosciences

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science or related field with relevant industry experience
  • Strong C++ and Python experience
  • Proficient with common development tools (e.g., Git, Kanban) and processes (e.g., testing, code reviews)
  • Ability to prioritize well and communicate clearly

Desirable Qualifications

  • At least 4+ years of industry experience in software engineering
  • Experience working collaboratively
  • Experience with an agile workflow
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with biotech
  • Experience with molecular dynamics software
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience with CUDA programming
